Chapter 4

Suddenly, a wedge-tailed eagle flew down. It had a roll of paper in its beak. The wedge-tailed eagle gave the paper to George.

"It's the Thursday Age newspaper!" exclaimed George as he unrolled the paper.

"Then let's get comfy and read it," said the Professor.

"Remember the car?" said George.

"Oh yeah," said Professor Google-Face. They both jumped off the car with the newspaper. The two of them opened the parchment. It said, "THE AGE" at the top. Underneath that and the rest of the paper was all blibber-blabber to George. But the Professor was interested. Professor Google-Face put it in his pocket and they walked on. There was a sudden squawk behind them and they stopped.

"Oh, I forgot," said George as they turned around to see a wedge-tailed eagle sitting on a tree stump, "thanks, Beaky," He stroked the big bird's back softly. "Please get some more mail from our letterbox," said George. He spread his wings and flew off, his brown feathers shining in the pink light.

"Why is the light pink?" asked George.

"I think I know," said the Professor, "It may be because I heard a volcano erupt as were were trudging here."
