Chapter 3
Finally they landed in the Amazon. It was a big place. When they got to the forest, it was noisier than a car going over a railway line. They found a swamp and decided to rest there for the night. The next morning, they moved on. It was hard work. They got to another swamp.
"I'm tired!" said Lim.
"I know," said Max.
The next morning, Max caught some flies for the trip. When everyone was awake, they moved on. They came to the most beautiful swamp they had ever seen. Max's clan came up to him.
"This is the best swamp!" said Monty.
"You're right," said Max, this is my best day yet!" Monty hopped away. The next morning, they moved on again. It was warm. Max was looking for his relatives. He knew that they would help him learn about the Amazon. Then Max saw one of his relatives. Max hopped over to his relative.
"Hello! How nice to see you again," said Max. They hugged each other. "I'm so glad that you are still around. Can you lead us to the other relatives?"
"Yes, I can. Follow me!" They followed him. When they came to another swamp, they saw some cane toads sticking out of holes and logs. Max and his clan settled in and lived happily ever after.
