When they went into the crooked, haunted house, a bat swooped down on them. They all ran outside.
"This house needs some cleaning!" said Mum.
"No!" said James, scared.
"Why not?" asked Mum.
"Because I will get scared," said James.
"You can stay outside," said Mum.
"Will it take a long time?" asked James.
"I don't know," said Mum. When Mum went inside the haunted house again, a ghost came down. Mum screamed and ran out too.
"I know," said Mum.
"What?" asked Rick.
"Dad!" said Mum.
"But Dad will get scared too!" said James.
"But Dad always read books that are scary," said Mum.
"Will Dad get scared?" asked Rick.
"No," said Mum. So they all went to get Dad and they did.
