During July, Satoshi and I
began
to get to know a fellow member of AUSOM (the Macintosh
Computer
users' group). Barbara was wanting to create a website for a
friend
of hers who is a children's author. I thought it was really
nice that
she wanted to do this for a friend so I offered to help. A
friendship
grew out of our meetings and meals were shared at both
houses.
Coincidentally, one of Barbara's grandchildren was in my
class this
year! June, Barbara's author friend, was delighted with our
efforts
and I was unexpectedly rewarded with a brand new external
hard drive
for my computer and an open invitation to visit her property
near
Bega in New South Wales.
Jenny, Darryl, Joan and Russell have continued to be wonderful friends and support all through the year. We have a meal together weekly and take it in turns to cook. Both Jenny and Darryl have visited my class, Jenny to run a cooking activity with the children and Darryl to draw wonderful chalk illustrations on the blackboard. These drawings were remarked upon by every visitor to our room and the children were absolutely delighted.
