Chapter One:

There once was a girl called Jane. She loved reading books. Every day she went to the library to get some books. But her Mum and Dad hated books. All they did was sit in front of the TV all night and all day. Jane's Mum and Dad didn't know that Jane went to the library every day.

One day when Jane's Mum and Dad were out, Jane started to count how many books she had read. She had read 98 books so far! No one has read that many books before and Jane thought that she was going to become a famous book reader.

She went back to the library to get some more books. When she got to the library, she found that she had finished all the children's books. So she went on to grown-up books. As soon as she had finished all the grown-up books, she went onto 109 page books. It took a while to read all her books but Jane could manage it.
