Several years ago, Russell gave me an old mantle clock. It had not been working for some time. I had a go at getting it to work but failed. This clock was carefully moved with all my other belongings. As soon as it was put down in the new house, it began ticking, even though its pendulum was not attached. I didn't think much about it and just left it. The next morning, it was still going for its life, so I attached its pendulum. It has continued to work perfectly ever since!
